| Michael Clark Duncan joins casts for the upcoming Street Fighter live-action film. |

A lot of people are getting excited in anticipation of the new movie Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which is set to start filming in March, according to Variety.
John Lucas at PopZara gives us his take on casting for Street Fighter:
“As we know, Kristin Kreuk as the ox horn-haired, thick-thighed, high kicking Chun-Li will be the main character of the live action movie based on the iconic videogame franchise, one that occurs 14 years after the last live action film based on the game. But now we have some more dream casting for you to get the blood zipping through your veins.
Michael Clarke Duncan, the hulking former bodyguard turned actor known in a variety of roles, such as The Kingpin from 2003’s Daredevil, will portray the equally hulking imposing boxer/enforcer from Shadoloo known as Balrog. The first of the four bosses from the original 1992 Street Fighter II videogame is truly known as M. Bison or Mike Bison, a literal and obvious parody of real-life boxing champ Mike Tyson. But long ago due to fears of lawsuits here in the U.S., a complex name switching occurred where the name of the boxer switched between the names of the vain matador and also the Shadoloo’s sinister master villain. Shadoloo boss Vega became M. Bison, vain Spanish matador Balrog became Vega, and the Mike Tyson-inspired boxer bodyguard became Balrog.
In other roles, Chris Klein known best from the two American Pie movies will play Nash, the Japanese name for the character Americans know as Charlie, Guile’s famous (and tragic) U.S. Air Force buddy. In some media the character is known as Charlie Nash, a good combination of his American and Japanese names, and like his blond improbably high flat-topped partner, Guile, he will represent the All-American G.I. persona that the original 1994 movie focused on with Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile in the main character role.”
